From Micki as they travel back from Kenya today after spending twelve days with kid who call them their “American Grandparents.” This post arrived from Amsterdam:
Happy Anniversary to my husband of 50 years. In some ways it seems like only yesterday we high school sweethearts walked down the aisle in 12th Ave. CRC. Fifty years later our lives are full to the brim with countless memories. Memories of those who shared that special day with us and are still part of our lives.
Memories shared with extended family and loyal friends both old and new. Memories of great co workers and business acquaintances, of hard work and awesome play, experiences of learning and teaching, good health and strong bodies, challenges and opportunities. Thankful for role models and mentors, for mountaintop climbs and being led through deep valleys. And so grateful for travels to faraway places, as on this day we are traveling home from special kids in Kenya who call us their American Grandparents.
To our children, Randy and Kathy. Marcelyn and Dennis, Melynda and John, and our 10 grandchildren, Parker, Miranda, Anna, Alexis, Adryn, Cassidy, Jaden, Devan, Nadia, and Sienna, You have blessed our lives immensely and for that we say “Thank You!”
Most of all we are thankful for our God who has directed our paths in ways we could never imagined and will continue to do so to our journey’s end. It is with this confidence we can look forward to whatever the future holds, knowing He will continue to lead us on this exciting journey.
Happy Anniversary to the one I love from Amsterdam, on our way home to Hudsonville.
